One of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, Same Time, Next Year follows a love affair between two people who see each other just once a year. Twenty five years of manners, morals and attitudes are hilariously mirrored by the lovers.

In 1951 George, a businessman from New Jersey, and Doris, a Californian housewife, enjoy one night in bed together in a motel. Although both are married, they find the affair so pleasant that they agree to meet each year for a brief tryst. During each rendezvous they grow to know each other, exchange confidences, and even fall in love. During the course of their relationship, Doris becomes a successful businesswoman while George lurches through angst, insecurity and the pain of losing his son and wife to knowing that he will always need Doris.
